Sustainable Tourism in San Juan

Jackson Bennett

About the Project

Much like many countries within the Caribbean, the island nation of Puerto Rico is a prime hot spot for tourism. Its capital city of San Juan has been considered to be a must visit destination for to experience the beautiful beaches, rich culture, and history. However, tourism presents both positive and negative effects that can greatly impact the sustainable nature of cities. This project aims to identify the current tourism situation in the Caribbean and in San Juan, and introduce the idea of sustainable tourism. With this information, the city can define ways to make itself more sustainable within the tourism industry for the foreseeable future.
