This project recognizes the impact culture has on planning projects, but offers a new conception of culture to replace the traditional role culture has had. To demonstrate this, the project focuses on the issue of food insecurity in San Juan. It explains the conditions of food insecurity in Puerto Rico, highlights how residents of San Juan have created a culture of resistance to fight against this oppressive conditions, and finally highlights how this culture can be used as the foundation of a comprehensive response to food insecurity.
