Creating Proximity

for People

Shifting time space compression in favor of people scale mobility

The mobility in Uptown is impacted negatively by the past trend of a built environment that has an overwhelming preference for cars. It is not in our interest to inconvenience the automobile, or who uses the car, but our goals and strategies aim to increase the convenience in decision making and safety for those choosing not to drive.

Creating Proximity for Humans requires expansion of strategies into a toolkit to create better streets, address housing issues, promote resilience to impacts of climate change, and creating transportation routes to provide connections that influence how we experience time and space in Cincinnati.

How can we improve the lives of people by flipping the paradigm to focus on making local distances feel shorter by improving the quality of living and moving without a personal vehicle?
