Fairgrounds 360
Fairgrounds360 introduces ecosystem services to carefully restructure and recycle the grounds and transform how the public sees the grounds
Reverberating circular patterns create Fairgrounds360, a reflection of the past legacy of County Fairs painted on the blank canvas of the Hamilton County Fairgrounds. Located in the Cincinnati neighborhood of Carthage, Fairgrounds360 introduces ecosystem services (cultural, provisioning, support and regulating) as the pivoting point for the future of the Hamilton County Fairgrounds and the region. This design research seeks to carefully restructure and recycle the grounds to maximize the production of the ecosystem service, through interchangeable and adaptable spaces, that change throughout the calendar year, for different user groups. By focusing on generating tangible metrics, the study will transform how the public sees the grounds, by serving their needs not only during the 5 days of the fair, but the remaining 360 days as well.
