Creating Jewels in the Crown

The Mill Creek is an example of a landscape that has been molded and reshaped multiple times over its history to meet the needs of humans.  This has created an unsustainable tension between the natural and urban worlds.   The Crown Trail and Community Corridor is an opportunity to design healthy spaces for all living organisms.  This resolution can begin by creating Jewels in the Crown. Jewels are focus landscapes where we celebrate the crossover of human and natural worlds, starting to resolve the urban-nature tension, and thus create ecological and biophilic spaces where all thrive.
