Can Green Housing be Affordable? The Future of Housing in Uptown

The housing in the Uptown portion of the Cincinnati 2030 district is outdated, inefficient, and unaffordable. The goal of my project is to show that housing that is good for the environment can also be main affordable to benefit low and moderate-income families. I did this by analyzing the current housing stock, researching sustainable housing technologies, and understanding affordable housing practices and policies in the U.S. The 2030 district’s goals of reducing emissions by 50% and a better understanding of how to access affordable housing should be brought to the community level.
