In 2015, all United Nations Member States adopted 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which are an urgent call for action by all countries. (https://sustainabledevelopment.un.org/). Many of these goals relate to abating the impact of environmental problems associated with human activity.

This website contains case studies of cities around the world that have differing climates, cultures, and environmental challenges and how their green infrastructure (nature based systems such as parks, green roofs, and constructed wetlands) can be used to meet the SDGs. Specific SDGs include reducing the environmental impact of cities, providing adequate open space, and climate resiliency.

The case studies were created by the 2020 Horticulture capstone seniors and supervised by Adjunct Professor David Gamstetter. Our partners were the Sweden Agricultural College who may use the students work as part of a broader study.  https://www.slu.se/en
